You should only take your driving test once you have an adequate amount of experience. Ideally, this experience, or at least most of it, should come from a professional source, i.e. a driving school or driving instructor. Whilst there are generally high standards in the industry, it still pays to know what to look for when you’re choosing a driving school.
You will probably notice that different driving schools are differently sized, some might be a part of a very large company like the AA whereas others might have just one or two instructors. Each option has its benefits and disadvantages, e.g. a smaller school might have more of a personal touch whereas a larger school might have access to driving simulators etc.
You need to look at driving schools in your area as it’s not always the case that you’ll have easy access. If you live in a big city like London then you’re bound to find several driving schools nearby, and these days you can look online for example for driving lessons Wandsworth or driving lessons Mitcham.
The internet is not only a great place to look for driving schools and instructors but it’s also an excellent research tool. You can use the internet to discuss various driving schools in forums and hopefully you’ll also be able to find lots of relevant and reliable reviews from past drivers (hopefully “passed drivers.”)
