Today Indian car market is considered to be the second fastest growing one in the world. The booming in Indian car market is due to the large middle class Indian who today can buy luxury including upcoming cars in India with their rising economic condition. Since the whole economy of India has undergone a sea change due to the government act of economic liberalization policy in early 1990, the every sectors of economy are rising today. From the last few years, the Indian auto industry is doing quite well. Almost every auto giants have their presence in the Indian car market. In the year 2012, Nissan top boss Carlos Ghosn planned to revive Datsun brand as Nissan low cost siblings in some of the developing market including India. On July 15 in the 2013 Datsun made an official come back as a small car along with the introduction of all new go. The car was designed and developed for emerging car markets like India. Now the all new Datsun Go will be a B-segment offering that will compete with rival cars such as Hyundai i10, Chevrolet Beat, Honda Brio and Wagon R. Though Datsun Go shares its wheelbase with Micra, still it is slightly longer than the latter insinuating at a spacious cabin. For appealing wide variety of small car lovers, Datsun will be offering with two tone interiors along with plenty of equipment. Similar to Micra, Datsun Go will also be powered with same 1.2 litre petrol engine. Datsun Go is being expected to launch in Jan 2014 along with the price tag of Rs 3 lakh in the lower end and 4 lakh in the higher end.
The Volkswagen Tiguan is one of the upcoming cars in India which has been in the news with assumption about the crossover possibilities of its launch in India for a quite a while. The speculations have been fuelled due to the spy shots of Tiguan while being tested on the Indian roads in the past. Volkswagen has tested little success in SUVs and Compact Crossovers and has gone ahead with the introduction of its latest avatar of the Touareg in India. For establishing the brand image of Valkswagen robust SUVs, Tiguan could follow suit too. The car is expected to come in Jan in the year of 2014 with the anticipated price tag of Rs. 25 lakh in the lower end and 35 lakh in the higher end.
In the past few months Volkswagen Up has been caught in Indian roads quite a few times while testing. Volkswagen Up will be a premium, compact hatchback that has been positioned under the Polo in the European market. Since most of the components would need to be imported that’s why in India, Volkswagen Up would be more expensive proposition. This India Spec model could debut at the 2014 Auto Expo and is expected to come by Jan 2014 with the price tag of Rs 3 lakh in the lower end to 6 lakh in the higher end.
